When your nameservers are moved to Namecheap, there’s no reason for downtime, regardless of whether you’re hosting your website yourself or through a firm.
We advise you to set your domain to utilise our FreeDNS if you’re utilising the default nameservers provided by your existing registrar and wish to prevent downtime. You can start the procedure as soon as your domain starts to use FreeDNS. You will instantly be moved to our default nameservers once finished.

To move your .uk domain to Namecheap, you must unlock the domain, and change its IPS tag to NAMECHEAP-INC at your current registrar. You can do this through your account with them or by contacting their support. Then initiate the transfer at Namecheap.

No, transferring your domain does not affect your website’s uptime or functionality. The transfer process is managed in a way that ensures your website remains accessible.
Check your spam or junk email folder first. If you still haven’t received it, ensure that the email address associated with your domain registration is correct and up-to-date. You may need to contact your current registrar to verify the email address or request a resend.
Generally, domain transfers are not allowed within the first 60 days of initial registration or a previous transfer due to ICANN regulations. If it’s been less than 60 days, you may need to wait until this period elapses.
You can select to Change Ownership if you would like to transfer your domain to a different Lantid account.
Please be advised that this is a final change to the ownership of your domain; to obtain your domain back, you will need to get in touch with the new owner.
If a domain transfer fails, you’ll receive a notification explaining the reason for the failure. Common issues include incorrect authorization codes or locked domains. You’ll need to address the issue and retry the transfer. If problems persist, contact Lantid support.
